Last weekend by girlfriend who lives 200 miles away came to visit me at my house for the first time. It was the best weekend of my life. When she’d gone, I was underneath my bed and I pulled out my box where I keep my blades. When she was with me she took all my blades because she doesn’t want me to cut. I opened the box and found this note. I just burst into tears. The girl who wrote this note cured my depression and stopped me from a 4 year long self harm addiction, and seeing this note was the motivation I needed to for once and for all put this addiction behind me. Cutting has always been the way I got things out, and I trusted a blade, but now, I have a girlfriend who I can trust and unlike the blade, my girlfriend makes me better not worse. My girlfriend cares for me, makes me feel safe, understands me, listens to me, and adores me. She does things a blade never could. So anyone out there who thinks a blade is the answer, it’s really not. Hold out for this person who can do what my girlfriend did for me, for you, because I can promise you it’s worth it.
